Local TD and Minister for Social Protection Leo Varadkar has welcomed An Bord Pleanála’s decision to hold an oral hearing into plans for a new supermarket in Castleknock following concerns raised by local residents.
Fingal County Council recently granted planning permission for the new supermarket although strong opposition for the plan has been expressed by many people in the area.
“I welcome the decision by An Bord Pleanála to hold an oral hearing into these plans. This will give people an opportunity to make their views known in person and in public to the planning inspector. It’s a pity that the council did not take into account the strong opposition among the local community to this development before it granted planning permission,” Minister Varadkar said.
