Dublin West TD and Minister for Social Protection Leo Varadkar has welcomed funding of €15,000 for the Football Hub Educational Programme in Corduff.
The funding will help 25 young people to train as qualified gym instructors, as part of the Corduff FUTSAL programme.
“This Government funding is really welcome. It should be a big help to the FUTSAL programme in Corduff, which is a great project. The funding will help young people aged between 18 and 25 to train as instructors for the programme, and get an internationally recognised qualification,” Minister Varadkar said.
The Fingal Project FUTSAL hub runs in Corduff Sports Centre with help from Fingal County Council and Blanchardstown Area Partnership. Fingal Project FUTSAL students take a range of courses, including the ITEC Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer courses. ITEC is an internationally recognised qualification.
FUTSAL is a form of soccer with five players on each team, and is becoming increasingly popular.
