Local TD and Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has welcomed Government funding for nine schools in Dublin West under the Summer Works Scheme.
Seven of the schools will benefit from essential window repairs or have new ones installed. These are: Scoil Mhuire Girls National School on the Navan Road; Chapelizod NS; the Dominican Girls Convent in Cabra; St Philips Senior NS in Clonsilla; Scoil Naomh Eoin Bosco on the Navan Road; and Scoil Thomais at Laurel Lodge.
Structural improvements will be conducted at Mount Sackville Convent in Chapelizod, and at St Dominics College in Cabra.
Riverside Community College in Blanchardstown will be able to address new curricular requirements.
Minister Varadkar said this is more evidence of the Government’s commitment to education. “This Government is supporting schools and investing in communities. The latest round of the Summer Works Scheme will make a real difference to people in Dublin West.
“People have made enormous sacrifices and got Ireland back on track. Their efforts have helped to bring about the recovery. Now we need to make it real for people. That means putting money back into people’s pockets, and investing in infrastructure like schools.”
