Dublin West TD and Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has welcomed plans for up to 80 new jobs at Guidewire Software in Blanchardstown.

The company announced today that between 60 and 80 new jobs will be created at its Global Services and Development Centre in Blanchardstown and is leasing extra office space to house its growing team.

“Guidewire’s plans to hire up to 80 new staff in Blanchardstown over the next two years is a real boost to Dublin West, and means the Blanchardstown office will be its largest outside of America,” Minister Varadkar said.

“It’s great news for Blanchardstown which is already a significant IT hub. Once again the quality of local staff is a key factor and shows we can expect further growth in the IT sector in this part of Dublin. I want to thank the company for its commitment to Blanchardstown and the staff for their commitment and dedication,” he added.

Guidewire already employs more than 150 people at the Blanchardstown site, and this new expansion will make it the company’s second largest facility in the world. The global company develops specialist software for the insurance industry.
