Varadkar congratulates St Ciaran’s NS for winning Irish Aid awards

Local TD and Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar has congratulated St Ciaran’s National School in Hartstown for beating off competition from hundreds of schools to win a prestigious award.

St Ciaran’s has been declared the overall winner of the 2014 Our World Irish Aid Awards with their project on World, Don’t Hide – Cherish Every Child.

“Well done to St Ciaran’s on winning this national award. This was a tough competition with hundreds of schools taking part, but the project from the St Ciaran’s students won over the judges. They developed a wishing well, featuring the wishes of their fellow students, and a secret box, which shows that the only way to change the world is through the individual. St Ciaran’s is a great school and winning this competition is further proof.”
