Varadkar welcomes 75 jobs at Guidewire in Blanchardstown

Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport and Dublin West TD Leo Varadkar has welcomed the announcement of 75 new jobs at Guidewire Software in Blanchardstown.

“These 75 new positions in software development at Guidewire’s Blanchardstown base are a major boost for the area. Guidewire is a global operation and I welcome its commitment to Blanchardstown. This announcement comes on top of the expansion announced by Guidewire last July.

“I’m particularly pleased that a major IT jobs announcement is once again being made about Blanchardstown. The company has said the expansion is due to the ‘contribution that the Irish team has made to Guidewire’s growth globally’. The area already features employers like eBay and PayPal, and last year saw companies like Buyersclub.ie and IBM taking on extra staff. The more IT companies we have in Blanchardstown, the more we can market the area as an IT hub.”

Guidewire produces software for the insurance industry, and set up its Dublin centre to support its global operations.
