Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadkar has congratulated Leinster on its superb win at the Heineken Cup in Twickenham this evening.
Speaking after the match Minister Varadkar said: “The meeting this afternoon of two Irish teams in a Heineken Cup Final was an historic occasion. Leinster came to the game as defenders of the Cup and faced an energised Ulster side at full strength. I know that among the fans, there was huge excitement in the build-up to this game, for what proved to be a mouth-watering match. I understand that attendance at the match today was record-breaking as more than 80,000 supporters made the journey to Twickenham.”
“It was great to see a complete sea of the Blue and Red, as two Irish teams in Twickenham battled to the very end. I warmly congratulate Leinster on a worthy win.”
