To the Residents of Hollystown – May 2012

To the Residents of Hollystown – May 2012

Change of Polling Station:
Residents of Hollystown will now vote in the new Tyrrelstown Community Centre for elections and referenda. The Community Centre is located adjacent to the new Educate Together National School and can be accessed from the Village (shopping area) in Tyrrelstown.

N2-N3 Link Road:
Good progress is being made on the completion of the N2-N3 link road which links Tyrrelstown to the N2 at Cherryhound. The road is being part funded by the Department of Transport following an allocation made by Minister Varadkar. The new road will open up new lands for employment in the area and will improve travel options for residents. Hopefully, it will reduce traffic coming through Hollystown along the Ratoath Road though we shall have to wait until the new road is open to be sure of that.

Four new Schools approved:
The Government has announced that permanent state-of-the-art new buildings will be built for the following new schools in the general area. Gaelscoil an Chuilinn will open in temporary buildings in September on Powerstown Road.

Mulhuddart National School (in Tyrrelstown), Primary, starting in 2012;
New 1,000 pupil secondary school (Tyrellstown/Mulhuddart/Hollystown), Post Primary, starting in 2013;
Powerstown ETNS (Tyrellstown), Primary, starting in 2014/15;
Gaelscoil an Chuilinn (Mulhuddart/Tyrrelstown), Primary, starting in 2015/16;

Yours faithfully,

Leo Varadkar TD & Cllr Kieran Dennison
