Minister Varadkar announces €5.3M for roads in Fingal and Dublin 15

Dublin West TD and Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar has announced €5.3 million in funding for Regional and Local Roads in Fingal and Dublin 15.

This includes money for:

• road improvements (€2.4 million);
• road maintenance (€1 million);
• discretionary road grant (€0.95 million);
• and low cost safety improvements €107,000.

The Minister also confirmed an allocation of €800,000 for the Harry Reynolds Road in North County Dublin.

€60,000 will be provided for a new pedestrian crossing on the Snugborough Road, as part of overall maintenance grants million for Fingal County Council. The funding will be used to construct a new pedestrian crossing with traffic lights, just north of the roundabout on the Snugborough Road. It’s being provided under the Low Cost Safety Improvement Works scheme.

“I’m very happy to be able to provide funding for a new pedestrian crossing on the Snugborough Road. Pedestrians and local residents currently have to take a large detour in order to cross at this point, so this project should make a real difference,” Minister Varadkar said.

Other projects under the Low Cost Safety Improvement Works scheme include €40,000 for a pedestrian crossing on the Drogheda Road, and €7,500 for safety works at St Mologas School.
